Should we walk or run in rain?
Well, this matters if you are running or walking outdoors or indoors. Just kidding.😜😜.
But, What will make you more wet? Is it walking at some constant speed or using your leg muscles at it's maximum? Let's find out.
The walkers: When you walk on the rain, you will be giving more time to the nature to pour water on you and that will make you wet. The drops will fall mainly upon your head and shoulder. That part of your body will wet faster than other.
The runners: If you will run you will be hitting more rain drops but you will be spending lesser time in rain. This way your body will soak water from the front and the head while the remaining part of your body will stay safe from water. If you've ever rode bike during mild rain then you definitely have experienced this situation.
So, What to Do? What can be helpful for you to save from the rain water.
Let's see what science says about this.
Mythbusters had already tested this question and found that walking is better option. Check their video below
.
But also there's a great youtube channel 'minute physics' which tries to explain why running will be a good option. Check his video here.
Now that we have the science, let's better conclude.
1. If it's raining cats and dogs then better don't go out if you do not have an umbrella or a rain coat. You will get wet irrespective of running or walking.
2. If it's raining high then do not walk. RUN!
3. If it's drizzling then walk fast.
# I would suggest you a better option to use umbrella. It will be helpful if it rains or its a hot summer day.
